There’s a difference between reading the Bible and studying the Bible If one has truly studied the Bible they will want more and more of God.
Prayer for before studying the Bible:
Lord Jesus, thank you for the opportunity to read your Word and to understand your Word as I study it. Precious Holy Spirit, please reveal to me the hidden secrets in the Word and show me the mysteries that are hidden otherwise in what I’m coming to read. I ask for grace to understand what I am reading. I ask for grace to receive revelation in my spirit of what I have read and I ask for grace to receive a mental memory/knowledge of what I have studied. Above all, may I receive the grace to apply it thereafter either in the good (when faith comes) or the bad (when attacks come). I ask for this grace in the Name of Jesus. Finally Lord, give me the grace to concentrate and for my mind to be focused – let me not receive phone calls when I’m studying.
